Life has been lifeing in all the best ways. I haven't had a chance to publish or work on any new books. On the contrary, I had to unpublish Work From Home: A Guide for Cats. Why? Because KDP, despite multiple emails, will not print the version I would like them to. I've re-uploaded it multiple times and everytime I buy an author copy, it's still the old version. It's very frustrating as I've been assured multiple times that my problem has been resolved. It has not. Womp womp. I can't in good faith continue selling it. That said, Cas the Cat: My New Family will be the only book currently available for purchase.
Now I need to find time and work out my third book. It has been written for years. I just need to sit down with an editor and get illustrations done. Time flies.

I recently was given a funny sassy cat by the Cat Distribution System while contemplating on writing a book about dogs. Is this a sign to stick with cats or was Gracie sent along to just be a squishable huggable, lovable bean? Happy holidays, lovelies. Let's end 2023 strong!

I went to a book signing event last night for Grace Lin's Chinese Menu. It was such a fun and lively event and a lot of what she said about why she got into writing children's books resonated with me. I'm still here. I'm just trying to enjoy the rest of 2023! Ideas are being written, things just need to be fine tuned.

I set up the ISBN, Noctambulist Books pulling through, and now to struggle with working on the pages... repeatedly. I think I had to submit my manuscript about five times before KDP approved of it.
There now seems to be an extra step to set up your book as a Kindle Book. I received an email shortly after asking me to prove my credentials. Good thing I have this website and some social media accounts. Now unblock it please, KDP!

I received the Copyright for the second book today! Woo! Now the stressful part of dealing with KDP.

I received an email tonight and it made my evening! I'm certain this is from my birthday book drop yesterday as I normally drop off books only but I included crayons and a tiny color book with my book for my birthday. I've always wondered who some of Cas' new owners are. This email came from the Little Free Library's owner and she seems sweet. I definitely want to visit this LFL again!
"Hi Joyce,
I found your very sweet book package in my Little Free Library this week.
Many, many thanks for contributing to my library, I get lots of children visiting and will definitely showcase your book in one of my two children's boxes attached to my library!
Are you a local author? Thank you again for picking my library to share your lovely book.

What a surreal night. I went to a Cartier After Hours Party with some friends and signed a Cas the Cat book with a $500 Cartier pen while sipping on Cartier Champagne that's served in Baccarat glasses. What is this even?

Milestone, triple-digit, 100th Cas the Cat book was sold as of November 30th! I am SCREAMING right now! If Google Chrome didn't force me to restart, I wouldn't have known. What a way to begin December. Thank you for giving Cas a hundred new homes!
In celebration and with gratitude, I think I'll drop a book off at a Little Free Library near me.
